The nation is facing a public health crisis. More than 210,000 Americans have died of COVID-19 and more than 7.5 million have been infected, including the president, first lady, and multiple members of the Senate.
The focus of our political leaders must be on addressing the continued spread and ongoing health and economic ramifications of COVID-19 — not on a Senate Judiciary hearing for an illegitimate Supreme Court nominee.
Amy Coney Barrett’s judicial record, writings, and views are clear: She poses a direct threat to our reproductive health and rights and to the Affordable Care Act. Her nomination to the Supreme Court, and her views on access to essential health care, are particularly dangerous while the country is in the middle of multiple public health crises. This is more than Justice Ginsburg’s seat — it’s the people’s seat. PPGNY Action Fund is joining partners nationwide to call on the Senate to immediately stop the nomination process until after the 2021 inauguration.
