This week, PPNYC’s Training Institute taught their popular training, Porn Literacy in Sex Education. The interactive session, geared towards sexuality educators, focused on encouraging critical thinking about potentially unhealthy, unrealistic, or problematic messages in sexually explicit media. Participants walked away with new skills in identifying these messages, stating the potential impact of porn on sexual and reproductive health, and skills to support clients in applying core concepts of media literacy to everyday age-appropriate examples of media.
