What Preserving DACA Means to a DREAMer

Today was a win and I am super happy and relieved as a DACA recipient. I thank every Chignonx undocumented person who made DACA possible by putting their lives at risk from the beginning and those who fought until today. The work must continue and we must fight for ALL immigrants, begin to uplift Black immigrants, and get rid of the good vs bad immigrant narrative. We must also center people who did not qualify for DACA and everyone else who continues to be failed by the immigration system of this country.

Hoy fue una victoria y estoy súper feliz y aliviada como recipiente de DACA. Agradezco a todas las personas chingonxs indocumentadas que hicieron posible a que DACA exista al poner sus vidas en riesgo desde el principio y a aquellos que lucharon hasta hoy. El trabajo debe continuar y debemos luchar por TODOS los inmigrantes, comenzar a elevar a los inmigrantes negros y deshacernos de la narrativa de inmigrantes buenos contra malos porque todos merecemos vivir una vida en paz y feliz. También debemos centrar a las personas que no calificaron para DACA y a todos los demás que continúan siendo fallados por el sistema de inmigración de este país.
